Hi Everyone,
Since stopping the high dose steroids, Kadin has deteriorated considerably. He has air around his heart, which means his lungs are leaking. They are concerned about his lungs collapsing, so they have changed the BiPap pressures and increased his Oxygen to 60%
They will restart steroids today at a higher dose and add the clotting agent Novo-7. They are not sure if his lungs are bleeding, but if they are, the Novo-7 should help. We will monitor closely over the next few days and pray that his condition improves.
Billy and I are asking for prayers of comfort for Kadin. He must be so confused. We try very hard not to be upset and discouraged in front of him, but he is so intuitive, and we feel he is aware that something is wrong, and that maybe it is his fault and he is in trouble. I wish there was a way we could make him understand and believe that he has NEVER done anything but make us proud. Every step of this journey has been easier because of his love.
Please understand that if this last effort fails, we will transition from care to comfort. We have authorized a DNR. If it is time for Kadin to go, we do not want to prolong his pain and suffering any longer. We have called on our family and friends to be close to us, and Tony is on his way. We think that this will make Kadin very happy and Dr. Sande has authorized a waiver for him to come upstairs and be with Kadin.
