Only two days left and our summer "officially" begins. We were filling in our calendar last night and discovered that every weekend in August is spoken for and there are only a couple of weekends free in July...although we have plans for those too, we just need to figure out the details. Jaden was heading to East Park water park for her grade 5 school trip today, it is cloudy and humid outside and they are calling for a thunderstorm this afternoon.....did not seem to bother her as we slathered her with sunscreen anyway....continuing on with her "pale is the new tan" philosophy...love it! She was at a pool party with some school friends on Saturday and the mom there took a group shot...Jaden was glowing.....in a Casper sort of way.
I now have an "official" babysitter in the house, Jade took the babysitter course yesterday, she was there from 9am-4:30pm. She was a little nervous as she did not know if she would know anyone there, turns out she had a blast and now considers herself an expert in babysitting ;)
Kids are done on Tuesday, the plan is to sleep in on Wednesday morning, and head to a friends pool or maybe the beach in the afternoon and then Jade and I are heading over to a friends house to soak in the hot tub. Thursday we are heading camping!....I am not really looking forward to it, last year we got rained out...but the kids (and Shane) really love it, so I will suck it up and go and have fun. Truthfully I plan on sitting on my butt and doing some reading....after all I now have a live in babysitter! The original plan was to come home on Sunday, but I think we are now coming home on Saturday as we are going to a graduation party for two awesome kids that we know:)
Sunday will hopefully will be a day of doing nothing and then the boys are heading to Western for a week of football camp.. They pick up their equipment on Tuesday, I am interested to see if they have equipment to fit my little Jackson. Rylan is a little nervous about camp, actually I think he is more anxious about the fact that they are providing lunch and he is afraid that there will not be anything he likes there so I have promised to pack a cooler with some "snacks".
My work summer schedule starts this week, I truly am lucky that they are so flexible with me, the plan is to work 10am-2pm Monday and Tuesday....and that is it!! I am hoping the kids can survive a couple of hours (now you know why the babysitting course was taken) then we have the rest of the week to do things, like the beach:)
