This child...

Let me talk about Jackson!

People are just in love with his little face, so many times people tell me "oh he is just so cute". Let me just say that it is a good thing that he is so darn cute, it saves his butt all the time.

Very few people get to see Jackson's "alter ego", he seems to save that side of himself for the special people in his life (at least that is what we tell ourselves!).

I should say that he is a good boy, he has a kind heart, loves to learn and he is a little cutie. However he is also a "know it all", I guess some would call it confidence, I think it goes beyond that, he truly does think that he. knows. it. all. ! If you try to tell him something he will reply with "I know that already"!

He has also shown his temper, and it is not pretty. Last week while he was in the midst of a meltdown he sounded like something from a horror movie, I actually expected his head to start spinning and hear "red rum, red rum" coming out of his mouth. We are slowly learning how to help prevent these meltdowns. Actually we have noticed with each of our children that if they are hungry, or tired it can get ugly....especially Jaden and Jackson. They are always asking for something to eat.....expecting me to stop what I am doing and get them something instead of getting off their little butts and grabbing something for themselves......Rylan is great at making sure he is not hungry although it does seem that they are looking for something every few minutes. I am learning that growth spurts require a lot of milk, bread and fruit.

Jackson is in a grade 2/3 split class this year which has also meant that he is in a class with some of Rylan's friends, nothing something that Rylan was thrilled with. They do have a lot of the same homework, however they are both completely different when it comes to homework, Jackson is speedy but very messy, Ry takes his time and is neater than Jackson but still not great....I actually caught Jackson telling Rylan the answers to the math problems so he could be done his homework faster.

Jax is still in a booster seat, legally you are able to be out of a booster at age 8(he does not turn 8 until July) , however I do not think that this will be happening for Jackson, he is still so little that it will probably be longer until he can be in the van with just a seatbelt.....this will drive him crazy.

Jaxy loves, loves, loves to play video games, and he is good at them, unfortunately that means Jaden and Rylan do not like to play with him as he is Mr Bossy pants when it comes to playing video games and is so competitive that they usually give up and leave him to play on his own.

That being said, when this little boy snuggles up in your lap for a hug you just want to hold onto him forever. I know he is just in a stage.....and "this too shall pass", I try to remember to pick my battles....however it is not always easy to remember this wisdom when faced with his saucey little attitude....god he is so cute ;)
