Rylan's 7th Birthday

Yes I know I have not blogged in a long time (Aisling)....so I am going to attempt to catch up:)

Rylan turned 7 on Jan 24th. He insisited on having his birthday party on the actual day of his birthday, so even though it was Thursday and a school day we decided to get it over with..lol So after school on Thursday we brought home a bunch of 6-7 year old boys. He had wanted to go to a rink and play hockey, but it is almost impossible to get ice time right now and some of his friends don't skate, so he settled with playing hockey in the driveway. They played hockey for about an hour, then came in and had some hot choclate and played....it was LOUD!!!!

We had pizza and cake and they just played, boys parties (at least Rylan's party) are different to girls parties, Jaden and her friends love to play games etc at a party, the boys can't seem to sit still long enough to focus on a game.......so they just ran around the basement maing up their own games.

In my family we have this thing on birthdays were it is expected of you to call the birthday person, so you know on your birthday you will hear from everyone whether it is in the form of having a message on the answering machine or talking to the various aunts, uncles ,grandparents. So after everyone had left the birthday party (let me tell you 6:30pm did not come soon enough!!) we took Rylan out to buy him a bike for his birthday, when we got home he talked on the phone to some people and when he was done he stated that he was happy he got to talk to everyone, but said the only ones he had not talked to was Grandpa Gary and AUNT Kelly.........I laughed so hard and thought that it was so cute!! The next day he was happy to talk to Grandpa Gary and Aunt Kelly on the phone ;) it made his day.
