well I survived yesterday :) I avoided eating the choclate by volunteering in Rys class in the afternoon, thankfully Christine was there so I had fun even if I was doing everything I was asked to do wrong!! It seemed that Laura was speaking another language to me.....I was out of it...lol
Work was slow. My last table was Dr Annen and his wife, when I was pregnant with Jaden my Dr transferred my care to Dr Annen for my delivery, he is such a nice man. Anyway around Jaden's due date Dr Annen's daughter was tragically killed in a car accident, she was only about 16...so very very sad!! I remember my appointment with him when he said that he had to go on a trip, he explained that his wife was having a very hard time dealing with their daughters death and he needed to take her away. As it happens I did have Jaden while he was away, but I never forgot him. They have been coming into the restaurant for a few years, and I have waited on them many times. Last night she was asking me a question about our vegtables when I said to her that she should really know the answer as she has been coming to the restaurant for so long. So we then started to talk and I told him that he was supposed to deliver my first baby which in turn brought up their daughter's death. I am not really sure how this came up but he told me of a patient of his that was in labour and how he was really torn as he had promised his daughter that he would go with her on her school field trip, he decided to go on the field trip with his daughter.....years later that same patient told him that he had made the right decision as the daughter he promised was the one that later died in the car accident. I have been thinking about that story since I heard it.....makes me stop and realize that truly nothing is more important than family!
